Also, to give you more maturity in the matter of finalizing and decoration, one of the most important parts of drawing, for each project I’ll try to introduce you to at least two different techniques of shadowing, coloring, digitalizing, etc., your project so that you can start exploring a bigger variety of options while you get familiar with new concepts and possibilities. For example, you might not have heard of it, but most draws were first made in China hundreds of years ago using an ink called Nankeen (or Nankeen). This is a great ink which was used for years as a writing tool, but remains still today as the favorite of comic books artists. Also, a simpler but nicer technique for colors is dots painting, where you create an image by using tons of dots. Of course, you will also see crayon, and chalk, and regular graffiti, and aquarelle, which are more popular, but don’t worry, by the end of the course you will be able to choose between them for your draw.

Invertebrates Jellyfish

Invertebrates are quite different from the rest of the animals. So different that sometimes we don’t even think about them as animals, which they are. They usually have this sluggish squashy appearance, that because they are boneless. However, how to create a skeleton of an animal that has none? That’s a mystery… And that’s why it can become quite challenging to draw invertebrates.

Still, getting a picture of the whole, the process, is much more important in our case than learning a way of drawing jellyfish.

Even so, we will try a jelly fish and accept the adventure. We will create a trapezium shape for its bulb and a guideline for the future medulla, as you can see in figure 66.
